Riyad Hacib re-discovers his motivation for podcasting after finding Creators House

Riyad has always been quite inquisitive and enjoys expressing his life experiences through art and creativity. He remembers having long & meaningful conversations with his father from a young age, but Riyad’s father sadly passed away when he was only 13 years old. Meaning he lost someone to have those conversation with. This led him to starting his podcast a year ago, called The Lyceum Podcast where Riyad and his guests talk about culture through a philosophical lens.

Riyad started his podcast from home, and even though he got into the top 60 in the UK charts, he found it quite challenging to produce content at the quality and standard that he wanted. It also became quite lonely and hard to stay consistent.

“Creativity can be quite lonely sometimes, but when you are in there (Creators House) and see other people doing their thing, it’s a nice community feeling. Creators House has created this nice ecosystem of creative people.”

Since finding Creators House, Riyad has been revitalised and has already filmed 10 episodes in the space of 8 weeks.

“Technology is expensive, therefore I kind of just stopped at the time. And in discovering Creators House, a place that has all the technology and studio space you need, it kind of, in one quick scoop solved everything, and revitalised my creative passion again. Creators House has allowed me to flourish again”

After filming Riyad’s podcast, he will often also book our creative co-working room to edit his podcast right away. “I see Creators House as work” he says “when I am in there I feel like I’m there for work”.

“Just to conclude, the most frustrating thing is when you’re creative, and you can’t express it, especially when it demands resources. And for an organisation to provide you with that, without wanting anything in return apart from your discipline, it’s like, how are people not using this more”.
